Related News Naeto C and Ikechukwu Rock the Big Brother House

Irrespective of what Dr James Nsaba Buturo thinks, the people have spoken and M-Net is returning yet another season of their popular and phenomenally successful reality TV show, Big Brother Africa (BBA) 3!

The show begins on Sunday, August 24, just hours after the 2008 Olympic Games end and will run for 91 days with the finale scheduled for Sunday, November 23. Channel O VJ Kabelo Ngakane will once again host the series, screened live from the BBA house in Johannesburg, South Africa.

As with season 1 and 2, in BBA 3, 12 individuals are chosen as BBA 3 housemates from 12 African countries (Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe). They will live together and after several rounds of public voting, one will walk away $100,000 (sh170m) richer!

They will have no contact with the outside world and will be watched by audiences 24 hours on DStv channel 198. In addition, M-Net will screen four 30-minute daily shows (Tuesday to Friday) and a late-night 'Uncut' show. Audiences can also look out for 60-minute weekly highlights, nomination and eviction shows.

DStv earlier called  for entries for the reality super-series.

As with previous editions of the series, audiences will also be able to see Africa's top musicians and performers take their turn on the BBA stage, which provides a unique platform to showcase African talent on its Sunday eviction shows. Ikechukwu and Neto C (both from Nigeria) performed individaully at the opening show. Ikechukwu however joined Neto C in the middle of his performance.

Joseph Hundah, M-Net director of operations for sub-Saharan Africa, says they were motivated to return the show because of the overwhelming response it has got from viewers across the continent: "With over 900,000 SMSs received, over 14 million page impressions registered on the show website and over four million video clips viewed online, the incredible demand for BBA 2 has motivated us (M-Net) to create a third season."

<<<FLASH BACK

The events that took place on the 27th of October 2007 in the Big Brother Africa House really crossed the line and many opinied that the show should be scrapped.  Some have called it the ‘Big Brother Horror Show’, ‘Big Brother Sex Scandal’, even, ‘Fingergate’! The video is still in our archive on Rubminds (click here to view it: http://sogundogoji.com/forums/index.php/topic,285.0.html) Don't forget, it is rated 16.

It all started one lazy, hazy Saturday when the Housemates were given tasks to do.  They were required to catch an array of magnetized fish and on the reverse side of the fish do whatever task was written there. Simple enough but as it was Saturday, Biggie had provided plenty of booze (undiluted, Russian vodka) and what resulted was an incident that will definitely go down as one of the most scandalous moments in Big Brother history.  The housemates became crazed, drunken zombies and engaged in acts better suited for a porno movie. The evening eventually ended in what many call a possible rape! Or how do you explain the actions of Richard the 24 year old Tanzanian film student and the only male occupant of the House fondling and ‘fingering’ a comatose, blind-drunk Ofuneka, a 29 year old Medical Assistant from Nigeria?   What makes this even sadder was that it was aired live on international TV by MNET a South African cable network with more than a million subscribers.  The whole of Africa saw this girl’s “privates” and they (MNET) allowed the cameras to roll instead of cutting to adverts or showing some other part of the House until the matter was brought under control.

As the Housemates continued to drink shot after shot of vodka, they got increasingly drunk; shouting, laughing uproariously, breaking things, falling about and puking their guts out.  One of the Housemates, Tatiana from Angola passed out and had to be carried to the bedroom to lie down.  She was later joined by her boyfriend, the controversial Richard who lay beside her.  Ofuneka then entered the room completely out of it and unwittingly lay on the bed beside her two Housemates.  What happened next horrified viewers as Richard lying between the two comatose women, undressed them and began to fondle, kiss and ‘finger’ both of them!  Maureen the 4th Housemate walks in and seeing the scene tries to pull Richard off them but she is unable to. It is at this point paramedics are sent in and Richard is taken and locked in the Diary Room. Finally Big Brother cuts the live feed and switches to an empty garden.

THE MOMENT
Whatever that was is stale NEWS now. Another Big Brother is here. Enjoy the show on CABLE and spread, hear and share the gist here on RUB MINDS.

Naeto C and Ikechukwu Rock the Big Brother House
« Reply #2 on: August 25, 2008, 02:46:00 AM »
The Big Brother Africa adventure was kicked off in style tonight by Naeto C and Ikechukwu, the Nigerian hip hop duo who have been rocking African charts and making the industry sit up across the continent and beyond.
The two first hooked up in the US, where both artists were born and where they have both kept ties over the years. Along with Ikechukwu’s brother, Uzikwendu, they formed the World Famous Akademy, an aspiring record label and a platform for the trio to launch their dreams. Naeto C recorded over 40 to 50 songs as a solo artist and about 25 songs with the World Famous Akademy as a group – all while studying a B Sc. In biology.
Nigeria’s Storm Records soon got wind of the hot homegrown talent, and signed him. There he has been working as an in-house producer with his newly discovered production team ET-Quake, consisting of TY Mix and VC Perez. His first single from his unreleased debut album.
Ikechukwu meanwhile has also returned triumphantly to home turf with his first album, “Son of the Soil” launched in 2006, followed by the smash hit single “My Name is Ikechukwu.” He was nominated for the Best Artist in Africa Award category at the 2006 Channel O Spirit of Africa Awards.

UPDATES HERE

Housemates make their first wacky Hero or Zero Nominations.

[float=left][/float]Just 24 hours after stepping foot into the House Big Brother drops a bolt from the blue and asks each Housemate to nominate a fellow Housemate as either their Hero or their Zero.

“From your first impression which Housemate is your hero… one you’d love to be living with for the full 91 days?” Big Brother asks all of them. The Zero Nomination is to be given to the Housemate ranked lowest who deserves to leave the House as soon as possible.

Nominating one another with all earnestness, they are oblivious to the fact that Big Brother is only pulling a trick on them. It’s a great eye opener as to who's considered friend or foe.

Morris & Latoya - any chemistry yet?

[float=left][/float]

Morris and Latoya have closely been in each other’s company. Earlier in the evening, they share close family tales and Latoya even showed him her family pictures.

Later at night, they lay with their legs clutching and Morris’ hands providing a cushion to Latoya’s back. They went on a deeper interpersonal familiarization tour. Lots of smiles, giggles and touches. Their tactile communication showed less evidence of restraints. Both seem to derive joy chatting. Their topics of discussion are boundaryless – an evidence of compatibility. They were just in their own world!

Isn’t it too early to conclude that there’s chemistry between the two? Moreso Tawana is also passionately around Morris. A love triangle?

Only time will tell.

Get glued! More on the way...

DIARY SESSION
"Latoya says she’s enjoying her sleeping arrangements with Ricco"
"Uti also revealed that he thinks the Housemates are still being fake"

Tuesday’s Diary Room session was quite revealing. The Housemates were all called in, one by one, from the garden where they’d spent the day magic-ing up their Africa-shrooms.

Biggie wanted to chew the fat about how the 12 were feeling, what they were thinking, how their mushrooms portrayed their countries, what they thought of their costumes, the other Housemates, pairing up and sleeping arrangements.

Ricco's Diary Session
Ricco says he’s having a good time, he’s chilling, enjoying the task and his happy about the opportunity to show the best part of his country and present as a united Africa. He also gave all the Housemates names to go along with their costumes. Rico says he’s bonding with Uti, Munya and Latoya and he’s really happy with his sleeping arrangements, that is sharing Latoya’s bed.

Tawana's Diary Session
Tawana says she’s thinking about her country for the first time in a long time, she thinks the task is interesting but that everyone is panicking to get things done. She claims that the only person bothering her is Sheila, who is ‘testing’ her. She told Biggie the costumes were the nastiest things ever but at least “we have something to cover our bodies.

Uti's Diary Room Session
Uti told Biggie his task idea was smashing but admitted that he wasn’t very artistically inclined. He’s thrilled to be able to market his country and sell some good news rather than the usual bad publicity. He loves most of the costumes, especially the mermaid (Latoya) and the ‘hot’ nurse (Hazel), but believes his costume is hideous. Uti also revealed that he thinks the Housemates are still being fake and that they haven’t yet become their real selves.

Mimi's Diary Session
Mimi loves today’s creativity. She thinks the House is getting really interesting and loves it. She revealed to “B Square” that there are a lot of twists in the house, that people are trying to get things going, get their groove on, strategizing and forming cliques. She admits that part of her strategy is “to get one particular guy to really like me, really like me. It’s a Yes.”

Thami's Diary Session
Thami is pleased with his costume because he says it’s ‘easy on easy off’. He’s happy where he slept last night… He’s also enjoying the task, sharing with the other Housemates but made sure that Biggie understood he’d like some more liquor in the house.

Sheila's Diary Session
Sheila says she’s feeling fantastic, keeping herself entertained. BB joked that with all her singing she might be trying to get a record deal while in the House. She’s enjoying the project that fact that she’s busy and having a lot of fun with her own personal representation of Kenya.

Morris's Diary Session
Morris said he’s really tied up in what he’s doing with his mushroom and reflecting on his country. He’s enjoying the team work and the nostalgia. He loved the exercise task he was nominated to lead this morning. Biggie asked about relationships and he avoided the question neatly saying he doesn’t know about any relationships brewing, he’s trying to live his life and trying to get to grips with expressing himself.

Hazel's Diary Room Session
Hazel says she’s been feeling really sexy in her Nurses costume and has noticed the guys eyes on her, particularly Thami, Takondwa and Munya. She says she’s getting close to Mimi, Thami and Munya but doesn’t have a problem with the others.

Takondwa's Diary Session
Takondwa admits to ‘sightseeing’ in the house when he’s given such a beautiful view. He says he’s seeing a lot of naked women and it’s a beautiful thing to watch. TK also spoke about his Teddy Bear and enjoys having something to hold… He’s happy in his pumpkin suit even though his pants are really tight. He also tried to convince BB that the fact that he doesn’t actually have a strategy makes the other Housemates believe he does have a strategy. And finally requested some hard liquor so he could get some drinking games on the go.

Lucille's Diary Session
Lucille says she’s feeling better than yesterday because she’s starting to relax and get to know people and she’ll get more chatty when she feels comfortable with everyone. Right now, she says, “I’m trying to relax, learn more about the people and just have fun.”

Latoya's Diary Room Session
Latoya says she’s enjoying her sleeping arrangements with Ricco, she’s also getting on well with Morris. She says she likes all the Housemates but mentions that “Sheila never runs out of words, she always has something to say.”

Munya's Diary Session
Munya says he’s loving the arts and crafts and trying to let his creative side out but as far as the costumes are concerned he think BB made him look like a “porn star”. He says he embraced the fact that he could make a fool of himself and feels ready to walk around naked if he has to. He gets on well with all the guys but feels that he has potential to clash with Tawana.

Morris and Latoya - Getting Closer

Morris and Latoya don’t seem to be able to keep their hands off each other! Tonight we have seen them locked in each others’ embrace, taking any chance they can to get close.

Party Pooper
Earlier, the two were holding each under a towel in the garden. Their sweet-talk was interrupted by Big Brother telling Latoya to switch her mic back on, but if you thought it would end there, you were wrong.

Big Brother may have broken up their first party in the garden, but he can’t keep them apart for ever. While the Housemates await their food in the lounge, Latoya and Morris are at it again, this time with no towel and mic on at full blast.

As Latoya sits on Morris’ lap, facing him, she pulls a karma sutra style lean back. Morris may be impressed, but plays it cool by teasing Latoya about being lazy. He offers to give up his food or pyjamas if she can drop and give him 20!

Latoya is not interested in the wagers, until Morris ups the stakes and tells her that, if she wins, he will walk from the Shower to the Lounge naked! Suddenly, the bet is on, and the chemistry between the two Housemates is bubbling away happily.

Here comes your
UPDATES
August 29, 2008
The Emerging Romances

Some moves late last night reveals that Ricco wants to hook Thami up with Mimi.

There seem to some emotional attachments and detachments flying around in the House.

It’s no longer news, that Latoya is playing Morris and Ricco. Later in a Diary session she claimed she was just fiddling with the two hunks’ minds.

Morris also says he’s still available: “So far, not yet (hooked up).” But there are strong indications that some chemistry is brewing.

Munya says Sheila is interested in him, whilst Sheila feels Takondwa feels her. Munya seems to have moved away from Sheila, hoping to invest his emotions elsewhere. He’s getting close to Lucille lately. Baby on this Oboma thread says:” Munya is seriously begging lucille to share bed and ricco is the mediator.”

Also moves late night yesterday reveals that Ricco wants to hook Thami with Mimi. It might work as Mimi recently told Biggie to give her a few days and a man will be in her bed.

Not yet snagged, bagged or tagged are Uti, Lucille, Hazel and Tawana.

Uti's Narrow Escape

It seems BBAIII - and the world - were very nearly deprived of Uti's presence. The strapping Nigerian is a survivor of typhoid fever, which nearly took his life when he has a small child. We're glad he recovered and grew up strong so we could get to know him!

Can someone tell me why UTI needs to start coming up with these stories when we are expecting him to wipe the kokolets with the koboko they like?

Tawana is BBAIII's first Head of House

This morning while the Housemates were chilling, Biggie summoned a random Housemate to the diary room to receive their first task of the day.

Everyone listened intently as Mimi read out the big news – the task would determine BBAIII’s first Head of House.

Housemates were each allocated some pieces of wood, screws, a screwdriver, and a whistle, and instructed to assemble a cube that could bear the full weight of a person. The first one to complete a cube, stand on top of it, and blow his or her whistle, would attain the coveted status of Head of House.

Dead Heat
Latoya claimed success after only ten minutes, and reported to Big Brother, toting her big yellow cube along. Victory, however, was fleeting – Biggie pointed out to her that her Cube was misshapen, and thus inadmissible. Although Latoya put up a feeble resistance, she accepted Biggie’s decision, and relayed the news to the troops: the competition was still on.

Twenty minutes after the task commenced, Ricco blew his whistle, and was called in to see Biggie… only to learn that his victory was also considered unfair, as he had gone on building his cube even after Latoya brought the task to a halt!

And so the Housemates began laboriously taking their hard work apart.

Another spanner was thrown in the works when the disassembled boxes ended up a few screws short. Biggie supplied some extras, and eventually the Housemates took their places behind the starting line again. After much heaving and panting – and only a little bad language – a third whistle was blown. It was Tawana, and this time Biggie gave his nod of approval to her handiwork. First however, he wanted her to forsake TK's controversial cap. Fair trade!
