"àwolu màte maa n mohun ara e ni"
meaning....... A new emigrant(to a town)who doesnt want to be disgraced ,must thread softly & be very mindful of his/her actions...........

A similar saying in igbo goes " Anaghi agwa ochi nti na agha esu". it means "u dnt have to tell a deaf person that the market is on fire" and that goes to imply u dnt have to be told to kno that there is danger.

"Nwayo nwayo ka eji arach ofe di oku" ...means u have to lick hot soup slowly ..thats u have to be cautious when dealing with a hot situatioin . ( if anyone can explain this better , plz do , but i did to how best i understood it)

egwu dawa gidigidi , agbawa ya gidigidi ..means when the beating of the dums change u have to change ur dance steps ...pretty self explanatory.

"nwata bulie nna ya elu , ogodo ya ayochie ya anya" ...means if a child lifts his father up , his fathers wrapper ( cloth ) will cover his eyes which means u shouldnt try to outsmart ur father/elders cos u prolly wont succeed.

nwata kwocha aka osoro ogaranya rijuo nri afo ( when a child washes his hands he joins d wealthy to eat)

aka aja aja na ebute onu mmanu mmanu ( if u work u eat)

egwu ana atu afo oburu uzo? ( Is the stomach scared to come first?)
