[/float] The world's biggest auditorium now sits in Nigeria
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has opened, arguably, the world’s biggest auditorium. The facility can accommodate more than a million worshippers at a time. The auditorium, which was opened by the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, was built at a cost of $60 million (about N7.7 billion).

The new auditorium, which is floored with marble is sited on a vast tract of land within the Redemption Camp, venue of the ongoing 10th Holy Ghost Congress of the church.

Redemption Camp is located at Mowe, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The large auditorium, which is yet to be completed, is built with steel and cement fibres.

A worshipper who could not hide her delight at the new auditorium, was seen showering encomiums on Pastor Adeboye for his vision.

P.M.News gathered that the vision for the new auditorium started immediately after the 1998 Holy Ghost Congress held at Lekki, when Adeboye realised the need for a more spacious auditorium to accommodate the millions of worshippers who thronged Lekki for the programme.

In his first sermon at the new auditorium filled with millions of worshippers from America, Europe, Asia and Iran, the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Adeboye thanked God for the new auditorium.

He said there is room at the top for every child of God and explained that God was ready “to take us to the top but it now depends on our willingness and obedience.”

He revealed that it was God that gave him the theme for the programme, hence, those on the ground should key into it by prayers so as not to be witnesses but partakers in the blessings.

He called on worshippers to call on their friends not to wait till the last day of the event before attending, adding that blessings will be received daily.

Investigations also revealed that the church has acquired new musical instruments to replace the old ones, while a maternity has also been upgraded to meet the needs of pregnant women who may fall into labour during the programme.

More than 60 babies were born during the last Holy Ghost Congress.

On traffic control, it was learnt that the church acquired more than 15 power motorcycles to complement the efforts of more than 1,000 paramilitary officers and policemen and road safety officials.

The new auditorium is being built by a Chinese firm.

Holy Ghost Service is an all-night miracle service that holds on the first Friday of every month at the Redemption Camp at km. 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

Located in - between Lagos and Ibadan, the sequence goes thus:

Lagos - Berger - MFM(mountain of fire) - Deeper Life - Christ Embassy - Mowe - Ibafo - Kilometer 46 (Redemption Camp) - Sagamu - Ibadan.

Redemption camp is equidistant to both Lagos and Ijebu/Ibadan but timing is everything. If more than one congregation has service along the route, it usually ends in a gridlock and commuters are stranded for at least 14 hours either route and the 2 ways out are the Abeokuta-Ifo route or the Shagamu-Epe/Ikorodu routes.

Religion is the best selling business nowadays, how many companies can boast of 1 billion naira in a year? On the positive note, a Guiness World Record for Nigeria isn't bad init?

I quite agree with you, but what I mean is that the church should invest in people and make life better. I mean exactly, take care of today and tomorrow should take care of itself. There is no point having the biggest auditorium when many of the occupants are living in penury, even Jesus said in as much as ye have clothed these, ye have clothed me also. Same for feeding.
